Intraocular Lens Power Calculation in Eyes with Previous Excimer Laser Surgery for Myopia

چکیده
PurposeTo review the literature to evaluate outcomes of intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation in eyes with a history myopic LASIK or photorefractive keratectomy (PRK).MethodsLiterature searches were conducted PubMed database January 2020. Separate relevant cataract surgery and corneal refractive returned 1169 162 citations, respectively, full text 24 was reviewed. Eleven studies met inclusion criteria for this assessment; all assigned level III rating evidence by panel methodologist.ResultsWhen automated keratometry used theoretical formula designed without previous laser vision correction, mean prediction error (MPE) universally positive (hyperopic), absolute errors (MAEs) median (MedAEs) relatively high (0.72–1.9 diopters [D] 0.65–1.73 D, respectively), low (8%–40%) proportion within 0.5 D target spherical equivalent (SE). Formulas developed specifically population requiring both prerefractive manifest refraction (i.e., clinical history, bypass, Feiz-Mannis) produced SE between 26% 44%. only preoperative no at had lower MAEs (0.42–0.94 D) MedAEs (0.30–0.81 higher (30%–68%) proportions SE. Strategies that averaged several methods yielded lowest reported (0.31–0.35 highest (66%–68%) Even after using best-known methods, less accurate excimer myopia compared those did not have it.ConclusionsCalculation are longer considered gold standard. Intraocular lens power calculation following laser refractive surgery
Refractive outcomes following cataract surgery in patients that have previously undergone laser refractive surgery have traditionally been underwhelming. This is related to several key issues including the preoperative assessment (keratometry) and intraocular lens power calculations. Peer-reviewed literature is overwhelmed by the influx of methodology to manipulate the corneal or intraocular le...
متن کامل[Intraocular lens power calculations in eyes with previous corneal refractive surgery].
Results of intraocular lens power calculation were lower than actual required power in eyes with previous corneal refractive surgery because the inaccurate readings of corneal power obtained from standard keratometry. This causes the unacceptable hyperopia after cataract surgery. With increasing of population undergone excimer laser refractive surgery, this problem will be an obvious problem in...
